Virginia’s Department of Small Business & Supplier Diversity (SBSD) and the City of Richmond’s Office of Minority Business Development (OMBD) are offering this Construction Contracting Series to assist contractors in improving their procurement opportunities by developing their technical skills and knowledge. The series will consist of ten intensive, in-person courses that will focus on different aspects of subcontracting. Each week a subject-matter expert will present on one of the following topics:

Successful Estimating
Bid Preparation
Access to Capital (representatives from different financial organizations)
Project Scheduling
Understanding Your Contract
Project Management
Accounting for Contractors
Meet buyers from various government entities

Some of our guest speakers include representatives from WM Jordan, DPR, Hourigan, Whiting-Turner, Turner Construction, Hirschler Law, and more! Come learn from the EXPERTS!

The weekly classes will be in person Tuesday evenings from 5:30 – 7:30 (dinner will be provided) starting July 9th. You are allowed to miss 1 session during the 10-week program. 

The program will culminate with a “Meet the Primes” / Graduation Ceremony on September 24th. This ceremony will include the partner organizations that participated in the program and other prime contractors.
