TCAMPO Updates: New Transportation planner hits the ground running and more!
The Tri-Cities Area MPO has hired a new Transportation Planner, Landon Bridges, a recent graduate from Clemson University with his Masters in City and Regional Planning.
The Tri-Cities MPO started the Multi-Modal Plan last quarter and is meeting with the consultants bi-weekly. The steering committee meetings are on the last Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m.
The Tri-Cities MPO is preparing for three Smart Scale applications including:
– I-85/95 Interchange Improvements
– Washington/Wythe Conversion to 2-Way and SPUI @ I-95
– Winston Churchill Drive Corridor Improvements
The Policy Committee and Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) met this month. They made decisions to support Smart Scale leveraging funds for the- I-95@Rives Rd interchange for the city of Petersburg. Both committees elected new Chairs and Vice Chairs.
The Tri-Cities MPO plans to kick off the Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) in the next few months.
