The Policy Committee plans to meet on April 10, May 8, and June 12 at 4:00 pm at the Petersburg Area Transit Multimodal Station (100 W Washington St, Petersburg, VA 23803).
Multimodal Plan:
MPO staff, with assistance from the consultant Michael Baker International, are currently working on completing the TCAMPO Multimodal Plan. Staff from both the PDC and the consulting team engaged with the community by hosting tables at farmers markets in Colonial Heights and Hopewell, attending the Petersburg Trunk or Treat, organizing a pop-up event at Demolition Coffee in Petersburg, and participating in the Hopewell Family Resource Gala. These events provided valuable opportunities to gather feedback on multimodal needs in the region. The anticipated completion of the Multimodal plan is in spring of 2025.
PLAN2050:
The MPO is in the process of the Long-Range Transportation Plan, PLAN2050.
Staff are in the process of conducting the PLAN2050 Initial Survey. Staff have spoken to the Crater District Area Agency on Aging and the Petersburg Rotary Club as well as tabled at the Petersburg and Hopewell libraries and shared the flyer to many organizations and localities in the region. If you would like more information about the survey, please reach out to Landon Bridges (lbridges@craterpdc.org). The survey will conclude at the end of May. There will be multiple rounds of public outreach and surveys during this plan, so look out for further information. The Policy Committee has adopted a vision statement for the plan. Staff are currently working on the goals, objectives and performance measures to be approved by the Policy Committee. The anticipated completion of PLAN2050 is summer of 2026.
